TYPOLOGY
Types of commercial profiles
There is an extensive range of commercial hot-rolled profiles in different grades and shapes, including rectangular, round, square, angular and T-shaped.
Rectangular
Also known as flat bars or rims, they are very versatile flat steel bars that can be easily deformed and welded.
Sections and weightsSquares
Solid square bars have a cross-section with sides of the same dimension with a slight rounding of the edges.
Sections and weightsRound
Round steel rods are hot-rolled solid sections, in various qualities and with multiple uses in different industrial sectors.
Sections and weightsAngles equal sides
These are the most commonly marketed angles, consisting of two wings of the same dimension laminated at a 90o angle to each other.
Angles unequal sides
These angular profiles are less common than those with equal sides, the difference being that one side is larger than the other.
Simple T
These T-shaped profiles consist of two sections, where the joints and the end of the web have rounded edges, and the outer edges of the base end in a sharp edge.
Sections and weightsU-shaped commercials
These U-shaped profiles are similar to UPN structural profiles, with the outer face perpendicular to the web and the inner faces slightly inclined with respect to the web. The difference lies in the fact that these profiles are manufactured using a more dimensionally precise and rigorous process than that used for the structural profiles.
