TYPOLOGY

Types of commercial profiles

There is an extensive range of commercial hot-rolled profiles in different grades and shapes, including rectangular, round, square, angular and T-shaped.

  • Rectangular profiles

Also called steel plates or rims, these are highly versatile flat steel bars. Thanks to their ease of deformation and weldingare used in the manufacture of metal structures, reinforcements and fasteners. They are in great demand in construction, metal carpentry and machinery manufacturing.

  • Square profiles

The solid square bars have a cross-section with sides of the same dimension and a slight rounding of edges. They are widely used in the manufacture of gratings, enclosures, support structures and in the mechanical industry. Their versatility allows them to be used in construction as well as in the automotive and tool making sectors.

  • Round profiles

Round steel rods are solid sections manufactured by hot-rolling, which gives them high mechanical strength. They are used in reinforced concrete structures, transmission shafts, machined parts and in the shipbuilding industry. In addition, there are versions in different steel grades to suit different structural and industrial requirements. These commercial metal profiles are essential in many sectors, from construction to mechanical engineering.

  • Angles equal sides

Angle profiles with equal sides are the most commonly used in metallic structures, as they provide a excellent strength in joints and reinforcements. They consist of two perpendicular wings at a 90° angle, making them ideal for load-bearing and structural framing. They are used in the manufacture of commercial steel sections for industrial building structures, bridges and supports in construction.

  • Angles unequal sides

In contrast to equal-sided angles, these commercial profiles are equipped with one wing longer than the otherThis allows them to better distribute loads in certain structural applications. They are less common, but are essential for projects where where asymmetric reinforcement is requiredsuch as in load-bearing beams, platforms and heavy machinery reinforcements.

  • Simple T

These T-shaped profiles consist of two sections: the web and base, where the joints and the end of the web have rounded edges. They are used in the manufacture of metal structures, reinforcements in metal carpentry and industrial machinery components. Thanks to their shape, they allow a efficient burden sharingThis makes them an ideal choice in the steel profile catalogue.

  • U-shaped commercials

These U-shaped commercial profiles have an outer face perpendicular to the web and inner faces with a slight inclination. Their design is similar to that of the UPN structural profile, but with a less demanding lamination processThis allows for faster and more economical production. They are widely used in the manufacture of commercial iron sections, reinforcement in metal structures, frames and supports in industrial applications.
